Campbell Honored with Governor's Lifetime Achievement Award
Presented by the South Carolina Arts Commission
February, 2024
On the morning of February 13th, 2024, we received a call from Jason Rapp, Communications Director with the South Carolina Arts Commission. Jason phoned to inform us that Campbell Frost had been selected to receive the SC Arts Commission's Governor's Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts!
The news, of course, was most happily received! We were aware that Campbell had been nominated for "Artist of the Year" some months ago, and were assisted by dozens of friends, patrons, and students who provided letters of support, but the Lifetime Achievement accolade came as a very welcome surprise!
We very sincerely thank you for your support, and we are grateful to the Arts Commission's Awards Selection Committee for this very special honor! While (only) four individuals and institutions are selected from many possible entrants in the categories of "artist," "individual," "arts in education," and "organization" each year, the Lifetime Achievement Award is reserved for those who have truly dedicated an entire life to creating, teaching, and (or) promoting the arts in South Carolina. The award is sometimes issued posthumously, but happily, Campbell, who is the first to receive this special designation since 2021, is very much still here to enjoy itl
As the awards categories listed above are available not just to visual artists (painters and visual arts teachers, like Campbell), but also to nominees involved in poetry, music, dance, storytelling, theater, and related categories as well, this honor is especially significant, and once again, greatly appreciated. If you've met Campbell, you'll know him to be humble, given to self deprecating humor, and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that everyone experiences the joy of art in their lives. If you don't know him personally, we invite you to meet him either online or in person in upcoming video lessons, or at live arts and crafts shows in the region later in the year.
In the month of May (the exact date to be announced) Campbell and other Arts Commission honorees will be featured on a program broadcast on the South Carolina Educational Television Network.

"FRIENDS" page added to our online gallery!
The onset of 2024 saw the addition of a new FRIENDS page to this, our online ORIGINALS gallery. The page will feature a periodically updated selection of works by celebrated artists who were either personal friends of Campbell Frost, or whose work he personally admires.
Among this collection you'll have the opportunity to purchase highly-coveted pieces from artists ranging from one of Walt Disney's "Nine Old Men," to noted published wildlife, book cover, and landscape painting icons like fellow South Carolinian, the late Jim Harrison.
Check back periodically for updates to our listings, and don't hesitate to CONTACT us if you have any questions! Like Campbell's own paintings, we will be happy to deliver, as part of our unique concierge service, any of the works offered in this gallery for your personal examination in the Southeastern United States. A modest fee applies for this service, but is waived if you elect to purchase one or more of the selections you request. You may also make an appointment to view items (at no charge) in the Columbia, South Carolina, area.

Campbell Participates in 2023 live shows
In February and September of 2023, Campbell Frost Fine Art had booths at live events hosted by "Vintage Days Market Shows" in Columbia, South Carolina. Several thousand people attended the first event, and (as is frequently the case) many of Campbell's former students stopped by our booths to say hello.
Campbell provided a demonstration of his painting technique at each event, and one of his signed open-edition prints (on archival paper) was presented to an attendee whose name was selected by the event sponsors in a drawing.
